Yes, Hiber has launched its first two satellites end of 2018. These satellites are in, in a polar sun-synchronous Low Earth Orbit (LEO), rotating around the earth at approximately 600km.

You can connect your IoT devices via Hiberband for just a few euros per device per year.

The user-definable message payload is 144 bytes. In addition, every message contains a header of 31 bytes which includes the unique modem ID, a GPS location and a time stamp. We employ an AES tag in the header for verifying integrity of the data and CRC24 at the end of the complete message.

The Hiber Development Kit allows you to familiarize yourself with our Hiberband Direct technology. With the kit, you will be able to test our modem and integrate it into a device for prototyping/testing purposes. As soon as the Hiber network has been released for commercial use you will be able to perform end-to-end tests over the actual satellite network.

The kit includes the following components:

  • 2 Hiberband modems:
    • 1 solderable modem module
    • 1 Arduino based modem
  • 1 Arduino Mega 2560 R3 microcontroller 
  • 1 Hiberband antenna
  • 1 Hiberfaker; device to update modem firmware
